TTD to conduct 'Ashta bandhana maha samprokshnam'
Tirupati, July 21 (UNI) After a gap of 12 years, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct 'Ashta Bandhana Maha Samprokshnam' from August 25 to 29.
During the five-day ritual, which would begin with vedic hymns, the idol of the presiding deity, the sanctum sanctorum and its surroundings would be thoroughly checked and repairs would be done if necessary, a TTD release said here today.
The rituals would start with special prayers and the power of the presiding deity would be transferred to a golden pot and placed in a place called Balalayam inside the temple. Later, the power would be transferred back to the deity by conducting special poojas and homams after the repairs and renovations.
However, during the five days, devotees would be allowed for darshan of the deity and the rituals would conclude with Maha Santhi Homam, the release added.
