Suspects have link with Pakistan : Raghuvanshi

Mumbai, July 21 (UNI) The three suspects, who were arrested in connection with the recent serial train blasts in Mumbai, have allegedly links with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, a senior police official today said.

Addressing mediapersons here, Joint Commissioner of Police (ATS) K P Raghuvanshi said during the interrogation, it was revealed that the three -- Mohammed Kalam Ansari, Mohammed Khalil Sheikh and Mumtaz Chaudhary -- were having ''direct or indirect'' links with Pakistan and the other two countries.

Declining to elaborate further, he said the investigation was in ''crucial stage and so it is not possibile to comment on any thing more in this connection.'' However, he said that a few more people are likely to be arrested in this case soon.

The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) team has seized 1.5 kg of black powder from the possession of Ansari and Sheikh, who were arrested from Bihar, Mr Raghuvanshi said, adding the powder would be sent to forensic laboratory for testing The Bihar police and the ATS sleuth have arrested three persons, two from Bihar and one from Ghansoli in Navi Mumbai, for their alleged involvement in the recent serial train blasts in the city that claimed over 200 lives and injured 700 others.
