Rs 925 cr to be invested for 22 new flyovers: Deshmukh

Mumbai, July 21 (UNI) Mumbai city and suburbs will have additional 22 flyovers, at a cost of Rs 925 crore soon, of which six flyovers will be completed within one and half years, PWD minister Anil Deshmukh here today said.

Replying to a question by Govindrao Adik (Cong) and others Mr Deshmukh said the six flyover bridges are at Sion hospital, Sion junction, Kings circle, Bharatmata cinema, Hindmata cinema and Lalbaug Sion.

Already 55 overbridges were constructed during Shiv Sena BJP regime to reduce the traffic congestion and now 22 more will be added to ease the traffic, he said.

He also said slums will be removed from the footpath.

Replying to another question by Gurunath Kulkarni (NCP) and others Maharashtra minister of state for home Siddharam Mhetre said that state police will get new wage board from Diwali. He said the review of police staff salary is going on.
