Rainfall in Costal Karnataka

Bangalore, July 21 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at isolated places over Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall amounts(cm): Kollur, Nilkund 10 each; Belthangadi, Kammardi 9 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm): Subramanya, Yellapura, Siddapura 6 each; Mudibidre, Dharmasthala, Karkala, Jagalbet, Linganamakki, Lakkavalli 5 each; Siddapura, Joida, Londa, Somwarpet, Sagar, Hosanagar, Thirthahalli, Sringeri, Kalasa, Honavar 4 each; Panambur, Bajpe, Bantwal, Mani, Sulya, Kota, Ankola, Sirsi, Bhagamandala , Soraba, Balehonnur, Koppa 3 each.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all districts of Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Kodagu districts of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Belgaum, Haveri, Dharwad districts of North Interior Karnataka and over Hassan district of South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.

FISHRIES WARNING: Strong onshore winds from westerly to northwesterly direction speed occasionally reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during next 24 hours.

Local forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy.
