Notification for acquiring land for Tatas issued in Bengal
Kolkata, Jul 21(UNI) Beginning the process for the Tatas to set up their small car factory, the West Bengal Government has issued a land acquisition notification.
Land and Land Reforms Minister Abdur Rezzak Molla told reporters at the Writers Building today that the process of acquiring land would be completed in six months. The land would be handed over to the Tatas on a long term lease after they submitted the detailed project report, he said.
The Tatas had sought from the state government altogether 1,000 acres of land for setting up a small car factory and ancillary units for manufacturing spare parts at Singur in Hooghly district.
The notification was issued on July 19 on the basis of the land schedule submitted by West Bengal Indistrial Development Corporation (WBIDC), the Minister said.
