No political solution in sight for Israeli-Lebanese conflict : R

Moscow, July 21 (UNI) Russia today said no political and diplomatic ways to settle Lebanese-Israeli conflict had yet been found, which made the situation in West Asia hard to predict.

"The main thing is that that we currently see no ways of settling this conflict and transferring it to a political and diplomatic level and it is really difficult to forecast anything without it," Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov said at a press conference, commenting on the continuing Israeli offensive against Lebanon.

"From the military point of view, it is absolutely clear that Israel's potential is incomparable to that of Lebanon,'' he said adding ''However, contemporary wars and armed conflicts show that the comparison of military potentials is not always appropriate, at least it is not the decisive factor in forecasting the outlook for this or that conflict."
