No Lashkar elements in IAF, says spokesman
New Delhi, Jul 21: Claiming that its recruitment system underwent regular scanning for lapses, the Indian Air Force today asserted it had no Lashkar-e-Toiba militants within its ranks.
Reacting to media reports, the IAF's spokesman here Wing Commander Mahesh Upasni said while specific intelligence inputs could not be discussed in the public domain, there existed a processing machinery in the Service to act whenever such inputs were received.
About LeT militants having managed to get themselves enrolled in the IAF, Wg Cdr Upasni asserted that an intensive scanning of the recruitment system had found no evidence to confirm these reports.
''No evidence was found in this regard after a thorough scan....'' He further affirmed that such scanning was a continuous process carried out periodically.
