Metal prices declines on poor industrial demand
Mumbai, July 21 (UNI) Metal prices declined on poor industrial demand along with London Metal Exchange (LME), according to traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) today.
In ferrous section (per quintal), copper heavy, copper utensils, brass utensils and brass cuttings eased by Rs 500 each on sustained heavy selling pressure. But aluminium utensils rose by Rs 100 on reduced stock supply.
In non-ferrous section (per quintal), copper wire bars and aluminium ingots drifted lower by Rs 500 and Rs 100 respectively on increase of stock supply. But lead ingots hiked by Rs 50 on improved demand.
Nickel cathode fell by Rs 30 per kg on thin buying support.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 36,500, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500, Brass utensils - Rs 21,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 24,100, Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,700.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 40,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,000, Zinc slab - Rs 18,700, Lead ingots - Rs 6,200, Tin slab - Rs 480 (per kg), Nickel cathode - Rs 1,300 (per kg).
