Life imprisonment for three constables

Hoshangabad, MP, July 21 (UNI) A local court has sentenced three constables to life imprisonment in a November 2004 murder case.

Additional Sessions Judge Y K Gupta yesterday handed down the ruling convicting constables Sadiq Ali, Raju Chavke and Ramshankar Thakur for murdering Sanjay alias Mallu.

According to prosecution, some people were playing cards near Bundeli river on November 11, 2004. Upon seeing the constables, they started to run by crossing the river.

At this juncture, the constables threw stones on them hurting Sanjay, who collapsed in the river and drowned.
