Kubernath conferred with 'Vishwabharti' by Sanskrit Sansthan
Lucknow, July 21 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan today honoured (Late) Kubernath Shukla with 'Vishwabharti Award', carrying Rs 1.50 lakh in cash.
Pt Vishwanath Shastri Datar was conferred with 'Maharishi Valmiki Award' carrying Rs one lakh.
Kubernath's son received the award from UP agriculture minister and chief guest of the function, Dr Ashok Bajpai. The minister also honoured 43 other eminent Sanskrit scholars.
Describing 'Sanskrit' as the world's richest language, Dr Bajpai expressed concern the language could not get its due place in the society. ''Efforts should be made to popularise this ancient language.'' Meanwhile, Dr Bajpai released two rare books republished by the Sanskrit Sansthan.
