KEC bags Rs 520 crore orders from Kazakhstan, Abu Dhabi
Mumbai, July 21 (UNI) KEC International, the engineering and construction arm of RPG Group, has bagged two orders totalling to Rs 520 crore (USD 111 million) to be executed in Kazakhstan and Abu Dhabi.
Announcing this, the company said it would be installing a 500 KV transmission line, spanning over 250 km, for Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company at the cost of USD 62 million.
Also, KEC would install 200 km of optical fibre ground wire for telecommunication purposes in the country. The project would be funded by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The Rs 229 crore Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company project would involve supply and construction of two transmission lines over 92 km to supply power to the northern emirates of UAE. The first line is a 400 KV double circuit line, running from Dhaid to Ras Al Khaima and cover 64 km, while the second line is a 132 KV Quad circuit line, which runs from Ras Al Khaima to Khor Khwair and covers 28 km.
Announcing the receipt of these orders, KEC Managing Director Ramesh Chandak said that the company is eyeing to enter new markets every year as a part of its global diversification and business de-risking strategy. Last year, the company entered Afghanistan and Ethiopia.
