Jeev tied 7th afer round 2 in Sega Sammy Cup

Hokkaido, Japan, July 21 (UNI) Jeev Mikha Singh remained in the hunt for another top-five finish after returning a card of one-under 71 to finish tied seventh after the second round of the Sega Sammy Cup here today.

Jeev, who failed to qualify for the British Open, overcame occasional glitches with great resilience and never let the situation slip out of his control and made the cut with a two-day total of three-under 141.

Playing his back nine first, the highest ranked Indian golfer dropped a shot each on the 11th and 15th holes but squeezed in back-to-back birdies in between, on 13th and 14th, to finish hs halfway journey without any damage.

The other nine was a sedate journey with the lone dropped shot at the fifth, his 14th, hole but Jeev picked up a shot on the first and sixth and then parred the last three to finish his satisfying round at one under par.

Wei-Tze Yeh and Hidemasa Hoshino share the top spot with six-under 138.
