Horticulture and Agriculture key sectors: Apang

Itanagar, Jul 21 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang said here today that the future of the state depends on agriculture and horticulture sectors.

Inaugurating a session on Annual Operation Plan (AOP) 2006-07 of the horticulture department at Pasighat in East Siang district yesterday, Apang has assured that he would help to develop these sectors, official sources said.

'' The AOP should be rational and the fund must be used judiciously so that the development percolates down to the people, '' the Chief Minister suggested.

The state has tremendous potential in Horticulture, Hydropower, Aromatic and Medicinal plants and proper harnessing of these sectors would lead to development of the state, he added.

He urged the government officials to be hardworking, innovative, honest, loyal and prompt.

The Chief Minister finally assured of discussion regarding the allocation of additional fund for training on horticulture to the the educated unemployed youth of the state.

State Horticulture Minister Tsering Gyurme suggested regular monitoring of the schemes, more trainings and research works, sources added.
