Foreign reserves grow by 601 mn to USD 163.260 bn

Mumbai, July 21 (UNI) According to a weekly statistical report by the Reserve Bank of India the foreign exchange reserves as on July 14 have increased by USD 601 million to touch USD 163.260 billion, as compared to the previous figures of USD 162.659 billion.

The foreign currency assests as on July 14, however, declined to USD 155.716 billion as compared to the previous week's USD 156.315 billion.

In keeping with the international best practice, the central bank has included USD 76.3 billion as reserves in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as compared to the previous week's USD 76.5 billion.

The total food credit as on July 7 stood at Rs 37,854 crore and the non-food credit was at Rs 15,04,135 crore.

Total outstanding as on July 7 was to the tune of Rs 38,683 crore.

Also, the loans and advances to the Central government as on July 7 increased to Rs 2,988 crore and for the state governments it was Rs 194 crore.
