Enough evidence given, no action yet: India
New Delhi, Jul 21: India today dismissed Pakistan President President Pervez Musharraf's assurance of help if evidence about the recent Mumbai bomb blasts was provided to him saying it was ''no cause for satisfaction'' as Islamabad had refused to cooperate in the past.
India also reaffirmed commitment to the Composite Dialogue Process but said it could yield results only if President Musharraf fulfils the obligations in the January six, 2004, Joint Statement.
Expressing disappointment at President Musharraf's remarks in his address on Pakistan Television last night, an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said here that the continued denial by Islamabad of the presence of and failure to take action against jehadi groups threatening to operate against India from Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK), was no cause for satisfaction.
''President Musharraf's offer to help investigation if evidence is given to him, is no cause for satisfaction in view of the fact that Pakistan has refused to cooperate in the past,'' the spokesman said.
He said substantial evidence was given to Islamabad at the Home Secretary-level talks, held recently, about the presence on its territory of terrorist groups and fugitives.
The spokesman said India would continue to provide to Pakistan all available evidence and would await practical actions on their part.
