Court serves notice to R S Lodha and his sons on forgery case

Nawarangpur, Orissa, Jul 21 (UNI) Nawarangpur Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate B K Jena has issued notices to R S Lodha and his two sons besides one P L Vadera to appear before him on August 17 next on the complaint of forgery, cheating and fabricating evidences.

One Satya Narayan Sharanghi, a share holder and Commercial Manager of Mangalam Timbers, a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Group, had moved the court, alleging that the Lodha and Company registered with the Kolkata chapter of Institute of Charted Accountancy of India (ICAI) had cheated the company by furnishing forged certificate and other documents.

Mr Sharanghi appealed to the court that criminal offences under section 193,197,417,418,420,471,34 and 120(B) of the IPC be framed against the Lodha and Co, Mr R S Lodha, Mr A B Lodha, Mr H B Lodha and Mr P L Vadera.

The SDJM while taking cognizance of the complaint on July 19 last directed the personal appearance of all the four named in the complaint on August 17 next.

According to Jhadeswar Khadanga, the counsel for the complaint, Lodha and Co was appointed as the Statutory Auditor for the Mangalam Timber Private Limited for 2002-2003 after it submitted that it had 14 members and eligible for becoming the statutory auditor for the company.
