Cong leaders complain of tardy progress of development schemes
Udaipur, July 21 (UNI) State Congress leaders today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during his brief visit here and apprised him on the 'slow' progress of the centrally-funded schemes in the state.
The party leaders, of which a majority were from Udaipur, also submitted a memorandum to Dr Singh, in which they complained about the state government's ''lack of seriousness'' in the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
They also demanded a special pacakage for tourism and tribals of Udaipur district.
The Prime Minister was in Udaipur to inaugurate the diamond jubilee celebration of Vidya Bhawan Society.
