BJP organises hunger strike in AP

Hyderabad, July 21 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh BJP today organised a hunger strike in protest against the 'steep hike in prices of essential commodities' in the city .

BJP national and state leaders, including BJYM activists, who took part in the hunger strike, demanded that the government take immediate steps to control the prices.

Speaking to newspersons here, BJP state President N Indrasena Reddy alleged that the UPA government at the Centre had failed on all fronts to provide essential commodities to the poor through the Public Distribution System (PDS) in the country.

He said the BJP would continue its agitation till the prices of essentials was brought down.

Reports said the BJP also organised similar fast in all mandal and district headquarters.
