Bharti Teletech wins V
New Delhi, July 21 (UNI) Bharti Teletech, India's largest manufacturer of fixed line phones, has won the 'Top Fixed Line Phones Company Award' for 2006 by Voice&Data, for maintaining its apex position in the fixed phones segment in the year 2005-06.
The award was presented to Bharti Teletech CEO Pawan Kapur, reaffirmig Beetel's market leadership in the Fixed Line Phone segment in the country.
The company manufactures India's largest selling telephone brand 'Beetel'.
Bharti Teletech closed the financial year 2005-06 with sales of 6.2 million telephones that translates into a market share of 54 per cent.
Accepting the award, Mr Kapur said, ''Bharti Teletech has always taken the lead in introducing state-of-the-art phones in the country.
The award serves to reiterate our commitment in providing the highest quality products at competitive prices to our customers.'' Bharti Teletech offers over 45 different Beetel phone models with prices ranging from Rs 295 to Rs 3995 across basic, feature and cordless phones catering to customers across all segments.
Bharti Teletech, which is a subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises, commands a market share of 48 per cent in the retail market, 60 per cent and 94 per cent in tender market&private service provider segments respectively.
The company has also tied up with Thomson for marketing of GE phones in India and has also entered into an alliance with Motorola for distribution of their complete range of mobile phones and accessories on an all India basis.
The Voice&Data annual awards, being presented for the 7th consecutive year, are seen as the hallmark of the Indian Telecom&IT Industry, and are decided after extensive in-house research and analysis, the findings of which are published in the annual V&D 100 survey conducted by the publication.
