AP destination for Industrial investment
Hyderabad, July 21: Australian High Commissioner in India John McCarthy said his country was keen to enlarge coordination and cooperation between the people of both the countries, particularly Andhra Pradesh in the sectors of Education and IT for mutual benefits.
Expressing his happiness over the development roadmap of Andhra Pradesh, Mr McCarthy hoped that the Andhra Pradesh would become the chosen destination for industrial investment.
The High Commissioner, who called on Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly speaker K R Suresh yesterday said his country had close ties with India and the State. He said the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Prince Mukkaram Jah had made Australia his second home.
The Speaker explained the Major Development initiatives underway in Andhra Pradesh, aimed at empowering the women, youth and the farmers of the state.
He also underlined the major strides made in Biotechnology and Information Technology sectors in the state.
Stating that Andhra Pradesh was rich in minerals and also had talented manpower for gainful employment in IT and Biotechnology fields in which Australia had abundant scope, he urged the High Commissioner to use his good offices to exploit the potential of Andhra Pradesh.
The Speaker said many students from the State were undergoing higher studies in Australian Universities and several students from Australia were also studying in various professional institutions in the state under exchange programmes.
