Another dacoity in MP capital
Bhopal, July 21 (UNI) Amid police claims of increased vigilance and patrolling in view of recent dacoities in the state capital, about six armed bandits looted cash and jewellery worth Rs four lakh from a house in sub-urban Bairagarh in the state capital early today.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Anant Kumar Singh said the modus operandi appeared to be similar to the dacoity at the house of a builder and cinema-house owner in a posh colony of the state capital two days back.
City SP Hemant Chouhan and Inspector D S Baghel were questioned and two police constables suspended in connection with the heist at the builder's house.
Mr Singh said dacoits entered into the house of Mr Tarachand Paryani after breaking the window and tied the hands of family members. Besides Rs 30,000, 300 gm jewellery and four mobile sets were looted.
The SP said around six such incidents took place in Indore between December and February and some accused were nabbed.
Besides, a dacoity had taken place at the residence of a retired IAS officer in Shahpura area and another at a house in Ayodhya Nagar area some days back. Incidents of chain and mobile snatching had also gone up.
The matter of rising incidents of dacoity and loots was also raised in the Vidhan Sabha in the past two days.
Director General of Police Swaraj Puri had held a meeting of senior police officials over the incidents yesterday.
