Anil Ambani revisits Lord Jagannath after two decades
Puri, Jul 21 (UNI) After almost two decades, Reliance ADA Group Chairman Anil Ambani today visited the 12th century Jagannath temple and offered prayers to Lord Jagannath, his elder Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
According to temple sources, Mr Ambani arrived at the temple main gate at about at 0550 hours much before the temple gate was opened.
When he learnt that there would be little delay in opening the temple gate, he went round the city and came to the temple after an hour just at the time of opening of the main gate.
He was received by the temple officials and escorted to the sanctum sanctorum along with two senior Reliance officials Rajesh Tiwary and J P Chalsani.
Mr Ambani had visited the temple 20 years back with his mother.
His priest Raghu Gochhikar performed the religious offerings in the temple.
The Reliance ABA Chairman witnessed the sacred ''Mangal Arati'' of the lord Jagannath and then went into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple to offer his prayers.
He later went round the temple complex and offered prayers to Mahalaxmi, Vimala and other deities and paid ''Dakshina'' to the priest before leaving the city for Bhubaneswar, where he later held discussion with Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his Council of Ministers besides senior officials on his investment proposal in three key sectors-Power, Information Technology and Health services in the state.
