30-member motorbike rally flagged off in Bangalore

Bangalore, July 21 (UNI) A 30-member motorbike rally to discourage poaching and create wildlife conservation awareness was flagged off by Principal Chief Conservator of Wildlife A K Varma here today.

The rally, 'Wild To Ocean', organised by the Adventure Sports Association of India (ASAI), was aimed at inculcating a sense of adventurism among the youth, discouraging deforestation and stressing on a plastic-free world.

ASAI Secretary Acharya Babu T Raghu said the ten-day rally would cover Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Pondicherry, besides wildlife sanctuaries like Bhimeshwari and Biligiri Rangana Betta in Karnataka.

Those participating in the rally, including eight girls, would address school children and villagers on the theme en route their journey. The rally, after covering 2,000 km, would culminate here on July 30.
