UP earned Rs 114 crore entertainment tax in FY06
Lucknow, July 20 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government earned a total revenue of Rs 114.52 crore as Entertainment Tax (ET) last fiscal and has set a target of collecting Rs 120 crore for 2005-06.
Minister of state for entertainment tax Dinesh Singh said here today.
''During the financial year 2004-05, Rs 112.30 crore was collected as ET. So our collections for the last fiscal at Rs 114.52 were two per cent above the previous year,'' he said.
The minister said, to encourage the sector, committees have been formed in all the 70 UP districts for solving problems and disputes of cable operators and consumers.
''The duration of the scheme for opening multiplex cinemas has also been extended for five years,'' Mr Singh informed.
