Two cashew workers knocked down

Kollam, July 20 (UNI) Two women cashew labours were killed when they were hit by a train at Palkulangara railway gate in Kollam district of Kerala today.

The deceased were identified as Sheeba (20) and her friend Sreeja (18), both hailed from Kilikollur, police said.

The mishap occurred when the two were walking near the railway line when the Inter-city Express proceeding to Thiruvananthapuram from Ernakulam, hit them. Both died on the spot, police added.
