Tripura Governor praises ONGC activities

Agartala, Jul 20 (UNI) Tripura Governor D N Sahaya has appreciated the efforts of ONGC Tripura Asset towards prosperity of the state.

In a letter to the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Murli Deora, the Governor mentioned that the ONGC is the largest commercial hub in Tripura with vast investments and has a direct and positive bearing on the state's economy.

''What adds feather to the cap of this blue chip flagship public enterprise of the country, as far as Tripura is concerned, is that it has been playing a significant role in strengthening and empowering the fabric of the society and a vibrant community relationship with high sense of commitment to social responsibility,'' wrote Mr Sahaya. He further mentioned that the local population had been deriving maximum benefits from the ONGC operations.

The Governor appreciated in his letter about the social activities taken up by the ONGC. He also mentioned about the Tripura project of the ONGC which provides low cost power and knowledge connectivity to the local population.
