TDP stage dharna on price rise in city

Hyderabad, July 20 (UNI) The opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today staged a massive dharna under the leadership of party chief and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Indira Park here.

TDP Parliamentary Party leader K Yerran Naidu, and other senior leaders T Devender Goud and Vijaya Rama Rao, were among those, who took part in the dharna.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Naidu said his party stood by the poor and would relentlessly fight against price rise.

Mr Naidu questioned whether AICC Chief and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was aware of the hike in the prices of all essential commodities, affecting the poor.

He criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for holding a meeting of Congress Chief Ministers and expressing complacence over the price situation.
