Sun TV FY'06 PAT jumps 70 pc, declares 20 pc dividend

Mumbai, July 20 (UNI) Sun TV Limited, the largest television broadcaster in the south Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, has reported 69.65 per cent rise in the profit after tax(PAT) at Rs 130.23 crore for the year ended 31st March 2006 as compared to Rs 767.6 crore in the previous year.

Announcing this, the company's press release said its revenues for the year are up at Rs 321.91 crore as against Rs 290.31 crore in the previous fiscal.

During the period under review, the company's program licence income has registered a growth of 101 per cent. The Earnings per share (EPS) is up 70 per cent at Rs 21 from Rs 12.38 for the same period last year.

The Board of Directors have recommended a dividend of 20 per cent for the year.

Sun TV, which offers four Tamil language channels, including the flagship channel, Sun TV and two Malayalam channels including Surya TV, entered the capital market only on April 03, 2006 with an IPO.
