Sterlite Industries' consolidated Q1 net up 436.33 pc

Mumbai, July 20: Sterlite Industries has posted an increase of 436.33 per cent to Rs 879 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 163.89 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) has increased by 146.57 per cent to Rs 4,738.46 crore for Q1 of FY 06-07 from Rs 1,921.71 crore in Q1 of FY 05-06.

On a standalone basis, the company has posted 472 per cent rise in the net profit after tax to Rs 223.49 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 (Q1 FY 06-07) as compared to Rs 39.07 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 (Q1 FY 05-06). Total income (net of excise) has increased by 110.79 per cent to Rs 2,403.74 crore for Q1 of FY 06-07 from Rs 1,140.34 crore in Q1 of FY 05-06.
