SIMI case hearing posted to July 31
Bahraich, July 20 (UNI) The sedition case against Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) national president Shahid Badr Falahi and 11 others, which the Uttar Pradesh government wishes to withdraw, was today posted to July 31 for the next hearing.
Standing counsel Anwar Ahmad Khan said certain documents relating to the withdrawal of case were submitted before the court.
Conceding the demand of more time by the state govenment, Fast Track Court judge R C Pandey fixed the case for next hearing on July 31.
In 2001, the Kotwali police had lodged a case against Dr Falahi and 11 others after a SIMI seminar was held, where Dr Falahi delivered inflammatory speeches.
