Senior IAS officer suspended

Hyderabad, July 20 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government today suspended an IAS Officer, Commissioner of Employment Mangapathi Rao for allegedly misbehaving with a lady officer.

According to official sources, the action was taken following a complaint by the lady officer Usha to the Finance Minister K Rosaiah, Labour Minister G Vinod and Chief Secretary T K Dewan.

In the complaint she alleged that the commissioner had been sexually harassing her for the last three months.

She also lodged a complaint with the AP Women's Commission and the media.

Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ordered the officer to be suspended immediately.

He also ordered a departmental enquiry.
