Sasken revenue up by 35 pc, net profit zooms
Bangalore, Jul 20: Telecom R and D outsourcing pioneer, Sasken Communication Technologies, today announced a 35 per cent jump in its revenue at Rs 91.12 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal, with net profit zooming 81 per cent at Rs 8.65 crore.
The company, in a release here, said quarter-on-quarter, the increase in revenue was 17 per cent and net profit was up by 38 per cent.
Commenting on the performance, Sasken Chairman and CEO Rajiv Mody said ''both in sequential and corresponding quarter terms, our topline and bottomline performance have been as expected.
Specifically on the service side, we have recorded an annual growth rate of 40 per cent and a sequential quarter growth of 19 per cent.
Products continue to be on track and we expect handsets containing Sasken IP to start shipping from November 2006.'' He said the acquisition of iSoftTech in Chennai in April had added a new centre and new set up capabilities to the company.
Sasken had also launched a new test lab offering, the first of its kind in the country, during the quarter.
The company said the Mexican development centre had started contributing to revenue from the first quarter of this fiscal.
Sasken had added 11 new customers during the three months, taking the number of active customers to 48. The net addition in manpower was 322, taking the total strength to 2,897.
