S Rly announces cancellation, regulation of trains

Chennai, July 20 (UNI) The southern railways today announced cancellation of two trains, partial cancellation of some and regulation of few others due to line block and power block in connection with engineering works at Tindivanam.

According to a railway release, the broad guage Chennai Egmore-Pondicherry-Chennai-Egmore and the metre guage Tamabram-Villuppuram-Tambaram passenger traing would be fully cancelled from July 23.

The Chennai-Egmore-Tiruchirapalli-Chennai-Egmore-Pallavan and the Chennai-Egmore-Madurai Chennai Egmore-Vaigai Expresses would be partially cancelled between Villuppuram and Egmore.

From Villuppuram, the Pallavan Express would be turned back to Madurai as Vaigai Express and the Vaigai Express would be turned back to Trichy as Pallavan Express, the release added.

The Tirupati-Pondicherry passenger would be partially cancelled between Melmaruvathur and Pondicherry, while the Tambaram- Mayiladuthurai-Tambaram Cholan Expresses on the metre guage were partially cancelled between Tambaram and Villuppuram.

The release said, the Nizamuddin-Kanniyakumari Thirukkural Express would be regulated for 20 minutes, short of Tindivanam, and the Mumbai CST-Nagercoil express would be regulated for 90 minutes at Chengalpattu.

The Nagercoil-Mumbai CST Express would be regulated for 120 minutes at Villuppuram.
