Rupee strong by 21 paise, closes at Rs 46.79/USD

Mumbai, Jul 20: Indian Rupee today closed stronger by 21 paise at Rs 46.79 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 47.00 per US Dollar, as Dollar declined overnight all across globally, said a trader in the money market.

Rupee earlier opened at Rs 46.80 per US Dollar and in the mid morning session traded at 46.82/83/US Dollar.

RBI today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.84/US Dollar.

The six month forward premia was down at 0.9 per cent and the one year forward premia was fixed at 1.09per cent.

Rupee however was down against other currencies, aginst Euro it was at Rs 59.10, against Pound Sterling it was at Rs 86.55, and against Yen it was at Rs 40.02.
