Railway revenue goes up by 17.65 per cent in July

New Delhi, Jul 20 (UNI) Maintaining its growth momentum, the Railways made a total earning of Rs. 1494.59 crore during July 1-10 as compared to Rs.1270.38 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 17.65 per cent.

The total goods earnings went up from Rs. 851.87 crore to Rs. 1017.29 crore during this period, an increase of 19.42 per cent.

The total passenger revenue earnings during the period were Rs.

429.94 crore as compared to Rs. 379.74 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 4.46 per cent.

The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs. 38.92 crore while the amount stood at Rs. 27.93 crore during the same period last year, an increase of 39.35 per cent.

The total number of passengers booked during Julky 1-10 this year were 168.70 million as compared to 166.76 million during the corresponding period last year, showing an increase of 1.16 per cent.

In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the number of passengers booked were 93.01 million and 75.69 million while the figures during the same period last year were 98.71 million and 68.05 million, respectively.
