PULF Militants nabbed with ammunition in Dimapur

Kohima, Jul 20 (UNI) The Dimapur police arrested 10 People's United Liberation Front (PULF) cadres, including two girls, from a hideout in Signal Basti area and seized huge cache of ammunition at the wee hours yesterday.

Official sources said on a tip-off, police raided a house in the Signal Basti area and arrested the cadres along with 195 rounds of live bullets of 7.62 SLR, 56 rounds of .303 rifles, two hand grenades and several incriminating documents.

The house was used as the finance cell office of PULF as well as a safe haven for their cadres.

The arrested persons were identified as Liraj Khan, Saddam Hussain, Md Shahbuddin, Abdul Malik Khan, Md Aimer, Tayab Umer, Md Bealal, Md Eboia, Ms Naovi and Ms Epapi Elisa. All of them hailed from Manipur.

A case has been registered under the Arms Act and investigations were on.

The Dimapur police have already approached their Manipur counterparts for help.
