PAF students getting annual package upto Rs 4 lakh

New Delhi, July 20 (UNI) Majority of the students from Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) have received big job offers from major textiles and apparel brands, with salary package of Rs 4 lakh per annum.

Though the girl students received double the total placements than boys, the top offer of Rs 4 lakh (per annum) was bagged by Apoorav Sen from the Madura Garments, an Aditya Birla Group company, PAF Group Director A K G Nair said.

Other brands, like Pantaloons, Steve and Barrys, Shoppers Stop, ITC Lifestyle Division, J&J Buying, etc also made placement offers, he said ''Most of the offers were around Rs 3.6 to 3.8 lakh.'' Since its establishment over a decade ago, the salary offers for PAF students have almost been doubled, from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh per annum.

''Last year the highest salary package our student got was about Rs 3.6 lakh. We expect the offer to reach Rs 5 lakh next year,'' he said.

In total, 80 per cent of the students have been placed in various companies while the rest are engaged either in their family business or have gone abroad for higher studies, he added.

The institute, which conducts various courses in fashion and textiles designing, held its 13th convocation ceremony yesterday.

Textiles Secretary Dr Ajay Dua presented certificates to 143 passing out students on the occasion.
