NCP state leader shot at from close range in Gujarat
Rajkot, July 20 (UNI) Two unidentified assailants shot at Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Gujarat unit vice president Gaterabhai Prabhubhai Patel from a close range at his residence at Limdi, a taluka town about 100 km from here, last night.
Police said the assailants had apparently rang the door bell and fired gun shots at Mr Patel as he opened the door. However, the assailants fled in a scooter.
Mr Patel (age 58) was first taken to a hospital at Limbdi, from where he has been shifted to sterling hospital in Ahmedabad. His condition is stated to be serious.
No arrest has been made so far, police said.
