MP to investigate into illegal land deeds' distribution
Bhopal, July 20 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today informed the legislative assembly that investigation will be held into the alleged illegal distribution of land deeds of agricultural and residential lands in the past few years.
Replying to a supplementary by Mr Arif Akil (Congress) during question hour, Revenue Minister Kamal Patel said 1,685 agricultural and 360 residential land deeds in 22 districts were cancelled after they were found to be illegal.
He admitted that most land deeds had been distributed against rules and guilty officials will not be spared.
Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani said when the government was showing so much transparency, it must mention the name of leaders who recommended release of land deeds.
As the matter of encroachment on government land by a police officer behind Rewa Collector's residence was raised by Mr Nagendra Singh, the Minister said the government was removing encroachment from all over the state including Rewa.
Besides, removing encroachment, the government would initiate action against the encroachers.
