Maruti launches LPG-petrol WagonR in Punjab
Chandigarh, Jul 20: Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) today launched the all new fuel-efficient WagonR, functional on both petrol and LPG, in Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana.
The market leader in passenger cars, unveiled the WagonR Duo Lx and Lxi variants, with the ex-showroom price in Delhi at Rs 3,40,106 and Rs 3,68,160 respectively. Both these variants run on alternate fuels of petrol and LPG, claiming a fuel efficiency of 10 per cent more than that of the previous versions.
Speaking at the launch, Mr R S Kalsi, the company's Commercial Business Head (North) said the new A2 segment car fitted with a Japanese LPG kit, is safe and enjoys certification from the Department of Explosives. The car has been tested and certified by the Automotive Research Association of India, he added.
WagonR Duo will provide customers with lower-running cost to the extent of 33 per cent, without the safety risk associated with the unapproved LPG kits.
The new WagonR has been styled and designed entirely by Indian engineers at the Maruti facility, after their success in designing and developing the popular 'Swift'.
The car has a fuel capacity of 35 litres in the petrol tank and 22 litres in the LPG kit, giving a total mileage of 700 kms.the model will be available in eight colours.
