Jaya effects major revamp in AIADMK organisational set up
Chennai, July 20 (UNI) Following a post-mortem on the party's election defeat, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa has effected a major revamp in the party's organisational set up which include appointment of Rajya Sabha MP T T V Dinakaran as party treasurer.
Mr Dinakaran, the nephew of Ms Jayalalithaa's close aide N Sasikala, had replaced senior leader Dindigul Srinivasan, who was made the Presiding Chairman of Dindigul district.
The AIADMK supremo had also appointed former Assembly Speaker and senior leader P H Pandiyan as Convener of the party's minority wing.
While former Ministers C Chinnasamy and R Viswanathan had been made Secretaries of Karur and Dindigul districts respectively, former MLA Pachaimol was appointed Kanniyakumari District Secretary.
While former Minister Anitha Radhakrishnan had been appointed as Secretary of consolidated Tuticorin District, P Senthur Pandian would be the new Secretary of consolidated Tirunelveli District.
The Chennai city unit, which was earlier functioning as three district units, had now been made into two districts in the name of north and south Chennai.
While P K Sekar Babu would continue as the North Chennai District Secretary, newly-elected legislator V P Kalairajan, would be in charge of South Chennai.
