Iran to make statement on nuclear issue - TV

TEHRAN, July 20 (Reuters) Iran will make a statement today about its nuclear programme which is at the centre of a dispute with the West, state television reported without giving details about what the statement would contain.

The report said the statement would be made at around 1000 GMT by Iran's Supreme National Security Council, which handles the nuclear case.

Iran has said it will reply to a package of proposals made by six world powers by Aug 22. Iran's nuclear file has been referred back to the UN Security Council after Tehran took too long to reply to that offer.
