Infosys to open NASDAQ Stock Market from India on July 31

Mysore, July 20 (UNI) Infosys Technologies Ltd will be the first company to open the NASDAQ Stock Market from India at its Mysore campus on July 31 when the IT bellwether and NASDAQ will recreate the marketsite experience remotely, including a replica of the NASDAQ electronic sign-in screen, seen worldwide at the Opening Bell ceremony.

The Opening Bell was a ceremonial event that represented the beginning of the trading day at the NASDAQ Stock Market. With the use of a highly secure IP-Network, the event highlighted how the NASDAQ Stock Market could be remotely opened, bringing together millions of investors and market participants to celebrate the opening of the trading day, according to a release here today.

The ceremony would be broadcast live at the NASDAQ MarketSite and on its seven-storey tower from NASDAQ's premier broadcast studio in Times Square, New York, the release added.

Signing the NASDAQ podium with signatures of CEOs and dignitaries was a NASDAQ tradition and representative of the market's electronic trading model, the release said.

Infosys senior management team, along with NASDAQ Stock Market President and CEO Bog Greifeld would be present on the occasion.

Infosys would kickstart its 25th anniversary celebrations at its Mysore campus on July 30.
