Haryana to favour SEZs in backward areas

Narwana , July 20 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced that those entrepreneurs who would set up their Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in backward areas of the state would be given double facilities as compared to the facilities available in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Mr Hooda stated this while addressing a public meeting here after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of a number of projects.

The Chief Minister said an investment of Rs 41,000 crore had been received in the state during the past 16 months which was a record in itself.

Investment of Rs 10,000 crore had already been made while the remaining investment of Rs 31,000 crore was under implementation.

The Chief Minister said that an investment of Rs two lakh crore would be made and employment opportunities for 10 lakh people would be generated in the years to come.' He said the problem of unemployment could be solved only by attracting the big industries in the state as it was not possible to provide government jobs to all young people.

He said that efforts were on to generate more power in the state to meet the growing demand for power. He assured that 5000 MW additional power would be generated in the state during next three-and-a-half years.

Responding to the demands put up by the local MLA and Transport Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Chief Minister accorded the sanction to upgrade the ITI, Narwana to the level of Polytechnic from next academic session.

He also announced that special facilities would be provided to those entrepreneurs who would set up their SEZs in this area.

He assured maximum development would be ensured in this area.
