Haryana acquiring land in and around NCR for projects

Chandigarh, Jul 20 (UNI) Haryana is acquiring land within and around National Capital Region (NCR) for setting up of new projects, including 4854 acres for IMT Manesar, setting up of a transport hub and residential complex, 2563 acres for Kundli-Rai complex, 941 acres for a petrochemical hub at Panipat and 1832 acres to set up IMT Faridabad.

About 2800 acres of land has already been acquired for the construction of the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and the remaining 500 acres of land would be acquired shortly, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here today.

Mr Hooda, who was talking to reporters after a review meeting of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC), said the state government has earmarked Rs 1449 crore for the development of infrastructure during the current financial year as against Rs 841 crore during 2005-06 and merely Rs 206 crore in 2004-05. Apart from this, the HSIIDC was also acquiring land for new projects outside the NCR and these included 878 acres for setting up of IMT at Rohtak, 309 acres for expansion of growth centre at Saha, 331 acres for expansion of Barwala project and 237 acres at Karnal.

The progress of other prestigious projects was also reviewed by the Chief Minister. These projects included the setting up of Industrial Model Townships at Rohtak, Faridabad, Yamunanagar and Kharkhoda, Industrial Growth Centres at Bawal and Saha over an area of about 2500 acres and multifunctional Kundli-Rai complex.

The operating profit of the HSIIDC has increased to Rs 29.43 crore in the year 2005-06 from Rs 17.98 crore in 2004-05 and Rs 16.45 crore in 2003-04.
