Mumbai, July 20: Values of silver and gold today opened firm on bullish advice from global markets, according to traders at the bullion market.

Following were today's opening rates : Silver (per kg) .999 fineness grade : Rs 17,630, Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint: : Rs 9,715, Gold 99.9 purity variety : Rs 9,765.
