Geelani calls strike against attack on Lebanon

Srinagar, Jul 20: Chairman of the breakaway Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani has appealed to people to observe complete shutdown on Saturday in protest against Isreali attacks on Lebanon and Palestine.

He also appealed to people to take to the streets tomorrow after Friday prayers and protest against the killings of innocent citizens, including women and children, in these attacks.

Expressing his concern over the Isreali attacks on Lebanon and Palestine cities during the past nine day, Mr Geelani said the super powers have adopted a criminal silence on the issue.

'' The super powers are working against Islam and Muslims,'' he charged.

He alleged that Human Rights violations in the Kashmir valley have increased and innocent youths are being arrested and tortured by the security forces.
