Explosion rocks Kabul, 1 dead - police

KABUL, July 20 (Reuters) An explosion rocked Kabul today, killing an Afghan man, police said.

The blast came as senior NATO officials visited the city ahead of this month's expansion of the alliance's peacekeeping role in the country.

''A vehicle has been hit by a mine or bomb,'' said a spokesman for the NATO-led operation in Kabul.

A police official said he thought the blast was caused by unexploded ordinance. No further details were available.
