Dharwad Bar Assn members on relay hunger strike

Dharwad, Karnataka, July 20 (UNI) Seven senior members of the Dharwad Bar Association today commenced relay hunger strike and staged a dharna in front of the court complex here, protesting against the inordinate delay in starting civil works of the proposed circuit bench of the Karnataka High Court at WALMI, near here.

The other Bar members took out a procession to the Government offices complex and forcibly locked the offices after asking the employees to leave. The law college students, supporting the stir, staged a rasta roko, affecting vehicular traffic for over two hours.

Bar President B D Hiremath told newspersons here that the lawyers would gherao Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and other Ministers tomorrow during their visit to Dharwad.
