Congress dares BJP to prove majority during coming session
Ranchi, July 20 (UNI) The opposition Congress today mounted attack on the BJP-led NDA government in Jharkhand saying Chief Minister Arjun Munda had lost people's support and dared him to prove majority in the coming monsoon session of the assembly next month.
Referring to the current U S tour by the Chief Minister and Home Minister Sudesh Mahto, accompanied by a group of senior bureaucrats, the Congress also demanded a white paper on the trips.
Accusing Mr Munda of 'misusing' public money, state Congress president Pradip Kumar Balmuchu said the money being spent on such foreign trips belonged to the common people of Jharkhand and demanded an explanation.
Party's state general secretary Sailesh Sinha said the state government should seek vote of confidence. The NDA government has lost its credibility and was overlooking the developmental issues of state, he added.
Mr Sinha said developmental works were disrupted as the government was busy tackling the ruling allies' internal squabbles.
He said transfer posting emerged as a ''new industry'' when other industries in state were on the verge of closure.
The Congress leader said industrialists from outside were no more interested in investing in the state.
